Babee Greens Review & Giveaway

If you have been cloth diapering for awhile or are just getting into you are most likely wanting a
good product to put on your child other then the chemical filled disposables. I did not cloth diaper
my first two children due to lack of knowledge about cloth diapers. While pregnant with Sweet Pea I had a friend who started cloth diapering and it caught my interest. I have now been strictly cloth diapering Sweet Pea for about two months now. I have all different kinds of cloth diapers from
AIO's, pocket, and prefolds. I was excited when I got the chance to do a review of a Babee Greens Organic Cloth Diaper.

Babee Greens Organic Diapers are no-pin, quick snap organic cloth diapers that are easy to use,
and comfortable for your baby. When using these diapers, you'll need to pair them with an outer
cover to keep the diapers from leaking. These diapers are good to use at nighttime if you add the diaper contour to the inside of the diaper for added absorbency. Babee Greens diaper contours
snap right inside the diapers to create an added layer of absorbency.

"You know from your own experience it’s more comfortable to wear cotton than manmade fabrics, and many people claim that organic cotton is softer than non-organic cotton. So aside from
comfort, what’s the difference between organic cotton diapers and non-organic cotton diapers? Cotton is the most heavily sprayed crop in the world next to coffee. If your baby is wearing non–organic cotton, they are exposed to the pesticides and chemicals that were used to grow and manufacture the fabric.  Babee Greens organic cotton diapers are responsibly grown and milled
in the U.S.A, without the use of harmful pesticides and chemicals, so you’re putting the softest and best fabric possible next to your baby’s skin. Cotton isn’t just softer to the touch, it’s breathable
too. Cotton diapers allow air to flow in and around your baby’s skin, reducing diaper rash and skin sensitivity. Increased air flow helps evaporate irritating ammonia from baby’s urine."

I was given a Growing Greens Organic Cotton Diaper to review on Sweet Pea. At first I was upset because I could not get the diaper to fit her correctly because she is so tiny and petite. I contacted Rachel at Babee Greens and she told me to go to there website and check out the video on how
to adjust the diaper to fit Sweet Pea. Once I reviewed it I was able to get the diaper fitting on Sweet
Pea correctly and was a happy momma. I wanted to try an all organic diaper on her. The outside of this diaper is so soft like Sweet Pea blankets and the inside feels the same. The leg holes do not gap
on Sweet Pea even with her having skinny little legs. I like that this diaper will easily stay with
Sweet Pea all the way through potty training.

Babee Greens makes a whole line of Orgainc items for baby and mom. For mom's they have
Nursing Pads as well as Wool Nursing Pads. For baby they have diapers, wipes, onesies, changing
pads, diaper covers and more. They also have their own line of detergents and cleansing sets. Make sure you hop on over to their website and check out all their great items, and make sure to check
out their clearance section as well for some great buys.

How would you like to own your very own Babee Greens Organic Cotton Diaper?
Well here is your chance Rachel has been gracious enough to offer one to one of my followers.

August Is National Breastfeeding Month

August is National Breastfeeding Month, which is fitting because breastfeeding is once again spiking
in popularity among new moms as the preferred method of feeding their newborn babies.  Breastfeeding is a personal choice that all mothers make and this trend is very healthy because breastfeeding provides so many benefits to both the mother and her baby.  Chicago Healers Practitioner Dr. Marilyn Mitchell, MD, provides us with some of the benefits of breastfeeding.

 ·         Nutrients and Enzymes- Babies who are breastfed take in nutrients and enzymes that are perfectly proportioned for a human infant.  Bottled milk often comes from cows or soy and lacks the perfect blend of nutrients and enzymes that human milk provides.

·         Supplemented Immune System- Breast milk also transmits antibodies from the mother to the infant, which are especially vital during the first few months of life when the infant’s immune system
is immature and lacks the ability to produce its own antibodies.

 ·         Healthier Life- Infants who breastfeed generally have fewer illnesses during the breastfeeding period than those who are bottle-fed and develop fewer allergies in their lifetime.  Breastfed babies also tend to have less colic, fewer restless episodes, and better sleep patterns than bottle-fed infants.

 ·         Helps Mom, Too- Breastfeeding increases metabolism, which helps with post-partum weight loss.  It also helps with mother-child bonding due to the mutually pleasurable experience.

It is also smart for new moms to be aware of what they consume while breastfeeding, as it can affect their child.  Here is a list of things to up intake of and things to avoid:

Do eat:

 ·         Fresh fruits and vegetables (organic when possible)

 ·         Protein sources (also organic when possible)

·         8-12 glasses of water, juice, herbal teas

 ·         Calcium rich foods (dairy, greens, legumes)

 Avoid:

·         Alcohol

 ·        Caffeinated beverages and all soda pop

·         Foods that bother the infant (spices for some)

 ·        Preservatives

Baby Bond Review & Giveaway ***CLOSED***

When your packing your diaper bag for a day out what do you bring along to use when nursing your
baby? Most likely you either bring along a blanket or a nursing cover both are great
but they hide your baby and cause them to sweat when it's hot outside. I know a lot of use
moms are not 100% comfortable with nursing without some kind of cover.

"BabyBond nursing sash covers mom, not baby. Baby is able to make eye contact, interact, and communicate. Privacy without isolation. After all, dining is social. Nurse. Converse. Bond."
With these moms are able to maintain there modesty without leaving the room. Baby remains
uncovered benefiting from the infinite opportunity to interact and communicate while nursing.

We recently took the family to the Akron Zoo for Member's Night. Oh what fun going to the zoo
in the evening and not having to worry about baking yourself or the kids. Well I knew I'd have
to feed Sweet Pea while at the Zoo so while packing by diaper bag I grabbed my BabyBond sash
instead of my normal blanket. It's nice that the sash rolls up into a nice little roll that will easily
fit in my diaper bag or my purse which makes it super convenient to keep with me at all times.
So when Sweet Pea got hungry I put on my BabyBond and started nursing while walking through the zoo. This sash works super well with keeping me covered and Sweet Pea out in the open. It
looked like I was just carrying her no one other then my husband knew I was nursing. My
mother in law walked up to me and asked if I wanted her to take Sweet Pea for awhile and I told
her only if she could feed her. She looked at me and was like "your feeding her right now? That
thing is awesome I couldn't even tell."

This is a great item that I am so happy to have added to my collection. I love being able to feed
Sweet Pea without feeling like I'm smothering her under a blanket. This would make a great baby shower/new mom gift. There are three styles of the BabyBond Sash's Original, Flex and Couture. These
are all machine washable and made in the USA.

The Original:
BabyBond Original is worn like a sash, functioning like a nursing top. Nurse from the top of your
shirt. Separate the layers of fabric to achieve latch on. Double panel keeps breast covered above &
below. Belly & back remain covered with your own shirt. Built-in 9 x 12″ double layer terry velour
burp cloth. Stores in matching pouch.

The Flex:
BabyBond Flex is worn like a sash, functioning like a nursing top. Nurse from the top of your shirt. Separate the layers of fabric to achieve latch on. Double panel keeps breast covered above & below.
Belly & back remain covered with your own shirt. Removable 9 x 12″ double layer terry velour burp cloth. Able to attach any cloth or wear without cloth attached. Stores in matching pouch.

The Couture: - This is the one I reviewed
BabyBond Couture is adjustable creating a custom fit as your body changes after baby arrives. A hybrid between nursing top and belly band, it can be worn to nurse from the top or the bottom of
your shirt so it works with your entire wardrobe. When worn like a sash, it functions like a nursing top. When worn like a belt, it functions like a belly band. Rolls up into self-storing pouch.

How would you like to own a BabyBond? Well then jump on over to there site and pick one up for
you or a friend. They retail at $35. OR you have a chance to win one here. They have also offered a discount towards the purchase of a BabyBond!!!

Review and Giveaway for UnBurn ***Closed***

Do you worry about what you are putting on yourself or your children when you get a sunburn
or a burn? I know I do... Sometimes it seems like leaving it alone works fine, but then there are times when it's a really bad sunburn that needs treated. What do you grab vinegar, aloe, lotion
and how do you know which would be the best for the type of burn? Also are these items really good to apply to burns? I was given a chance to try Unburn by Water*Jel and got it just in
time for the hot weather finally decided to grace Ohio.

When a burn occurs, seconds count. Water-Jel products are effective, versatile and approved
for emergency first aid burn treatment in a pre-hospital setting. Water-Jel products are
consistent with both wet and dry burn treatment protocols since they stop the burning process, cool the burned area, relieve pain, prevent further injury and do not contribute to
hypothermia or interfere with debridement (removal of damaged tissue or foreign objects from
a wound). There are no active ingredients, and the water-soluble gel can be easily washed off at
a hospital or burn center. Water-Jel is scientifically designed to draw the heat out of a burn.
The heat energy is spread over the whole gel surface because the material conforms to the
uneven burn surface. At the outer surface of the gel, the heat is released by transfer into the air. The buffer effect of the Water-Jel layer leads to rapid heat transfer out of the burn wound
without losing temperature around the area of usage. Water-Jel is primarily composed of deionized water, thickened to help it stay in place, and a small amount of Tea Tree Oil, a natural bacteriostatic.

Bubba, Jake and I rarely burn with or without sunscreen on. Pumpkin burns super easy and
hates wearing sunscreen or shirts when playing in water. Well unfortunately Pumpkin learned a valuable lesson recently about wearing either sunscreen or a shirt while playing in the water outside. It was a super hot day so I got Pumpkin his little pool out to play in to cool off. I had a
t-shirt on him as well as sunscreen. Once his shirt got wet he decided he no longer wanted to
wear so he took off. I then put more sunscreen on him so he would not burn. Unfortunately
even with the sunscreen on Pumpkin got really badly burnt and even ended up at Stat Care due
to the burn.

I hadn't been using anything on Pumpkins sunburn for the first day or two just keeping him
inside and out of the sun as well as giving him cool baths. But his back started turning purple instead of starting to heal. So I started using the Unburn on him and Jake took him to Stat Care along with the Unburn. The doctor said that Pumpkins burn was starting to heal and that we needed to keep out of the direct sun for a week and to keep applying the Unburn. Which is very hard to do with Pumpkin being a very active 3 1/2 year old.

The doctor at Stat Care said that the Unburn was good to use because it has Lidocaine in it
which helps relieve the pain that comes from burns. Unburn also helps with moisturizing the
skin. It is made to be non-staining and also contains Aloe, Vitamin E, Spearmint Oil and Tree Oil.
I like that the Unburn is not oily or greasy like some other products that you would typically
use. I have now used it on Bubba and Pumpkin when they have had sunburns this summer and neither ended up with skin irritation from it even though they both have sensitive skin.

How would you like to try Unburn? I have a bottle just like mine to giveaway to away to one of
my lucky followers...
