Pregnancy Journal: Week 24

I can't believe how fast everything seems to be going now! Which also means there are 18 weeks and 5 days until Christmas!!

How Far Along -
24 Weeks Pregnant (24 weeks 1 day)

Due Date -
December 13th, 2013

Boy or Girl -
Unknown - this is our surprise baby :-)

Bump Picture -

Baby Development -
Baby is growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. WOOHOO! That puts baby at about 1 1/3 lbs. Since baby is almost a foot long, it cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but it's body is filling out proportionally and will soon start to plump up. Baby's brain is also growing quickly now, and the taste buds are continuing to develop. It's lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help baby's air sacs inflate once baby is outside of the womb. The skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Symptoms -
I have been pretty tired and still dealing with the pain in my lower abdomen.

Current Cravings -
Pulled pork and corn on the cob.

Currently Avoiding -
I am still avoiding doughnuts and orange juice both give me a very bad upset stomach.

Belly Button Status -
It's starting to stick out just a little.

Movement -
Baby is moving a lot now and is very active!

Any Appointments? -
No doctor appointments this week. But have my 3 hour glucose test next week (not looking forward to it)

Any Baby Related Purchases? -
Didn't buy anything again this week for the baby. Since we don't know what baby is there won't be to much bought probably since we already have boy and girl stuff.

  1. It's so nice when you don't have to purchase many things for baby. Hand-me-downs are awesome! :)
Maybe your little one will share a birthday with me! :)
