40 Bags In 40 Days 2014 CHALLENGE

With today starting Lent, I was going crazy trying to figure out what I could give up. No I am not Catholic but I still felt like I needed to give up something or some things. When I read about the 40 Bags in 40 Days Challenge I knew I found my answer. If you could see my house you would say what in the world... I unfortunately inherited my Great Grandmas love for keeping everything. With Jake now working in the mission field at a Homeless Shelter I have come to realize that we have way to much stuff that is not needed that could easily help someone else in need.

What is 40 Bags in 40 Days?

It is simply a 40 day period in the spring that coincides with the 40 days of Lent, where you focus on cleaning one area per day. In this one area you challenge yourself to declutter, simplify and get rid of things you don't need. The goal is one bag a day but you can have more or less depending on the room.
The 2014 challenge officially goes from Wednesday March 5th to Saturday April 19th.

You can start this challenge whenever you find this post, we will be here to cheer you on! For more information on the 40 Bags in 40 Days Challenge visit White House Black Shutters.

  1. I've been participating in this challenge since the beginning. It's so nice {and relieving} to get rid of things I DON'T need. But, there's still so much I don't need.
