We are an ice cream eating family. We usually have ice cream for dessert about 5 out of 7 days a week. When I was asked to try the The Curious Creamery Ice Cream
I was excited because, well... its ice cream. I was worried though because I do not own an ice cream maker. I received 2 packages of the mix, a chocolate and plain and then realized, all you need is a mixer to make it. You just pour the powder into a bowl (they actually make pints that you use the container it comes in and just make it in there), and mix it with your favorite ice cold beverage, we used milk. You mix until it is fluffy and add anything you would like. We added peanut butter because that is my favorite food and you can never go wrong with peanut butter flavored chocolate ice cream. The bad part with this ice cream is, you have to let it sit in the freezer for a few hours.
We get the ice cream out and prepare to eat it. Unfortunately, it was not enough to feed our family of 5 so of course, mom and dad get store bought. We were allowed to try it before the boys gobbled it up though. It was very smooth and lite. I have to say, for being homemade ice cream made with a mixer, it was quite yummy.
They have many different flavors to chose from, even alcoholic mixes as well so you can be as simple or as "curious" as you would like. These would make for perfect gift ideas for that hard to buy for uncle or your kids teachers for teacher appreciation day. There are plenty of people that would love homemade ice cream without the ice cream maker. Head on over to grab yourself, and a friend a sample pack today.
