Spring has arrived in Ohio and well actually I don't remember winter this year we only got one or two big snows, and I am not complaining one bit either. I am a fan of warm weather I like to be outside with the kids instead of stuck in a closed up house. One thing that I enjoy doing is gardening and the boys have taken a interest in it as well. For the past 4 years we have been planting a garden at my in-laws house because we don't have the land at our house. But we do have flower beds which has become Pumpkin and I's thing it seems he loves to help me plant and take care of the flowers. Were Bubba is all about planting and taking care of the actual garden at his Nana and Papa's house.
One problem we had with Bubba is he wanted to help but would get frustrated because the tools were too big for him to use safely. So when I decided to participate in the Spring Fever Event I thought a kids gardening package would be a great idea because kids love to help. So while searching around the Internet looking for kid appropriate gardening supplies I came across For Small Hands. I was so excited to see that they had a garden tool set for kids. These tools are not plastic play tools they are real tools made just like adults but sized for children to use safely and easily.
I was sent the Child Size Yard and Garden Tool set to review. I must say that I was expecting cheaply made kids toys instead of actual tools. I was very happy with this set! These are real hardworking tools in the proper sizes which make planting and maintaining a garden easy and enjoyable for children. This is a very sturdy set of four gardening tools that are proportioned to fit children, and they get the job done. I like that the handles are made of wood and the heads of the shovel, hoe and garden are made of metal and the leaf rake is made out of bamboo. The shovel, hoe, and garden rake in this set come with a lifetime guarantee!

The boys love this set of tools and is always pulling them and trying to do something with them. As you can see from the pictures these tools are actually the right size for kids Bubba is 7 and Pumpkin is 4 and they both can use this set easily. Make sure you stop by For Small Hands website and see all the different kid appropriate items they have. This site is a great resource if you are homeschooling or are a teacher!!
I was honestly thinking about getting my youngest son gardening tools. He always comes out and helps, but he's always using my tools. I figure this way, they'll fit him better and he'll enjoy himself more!
ReplyDeleteMy kids LOVE helping in the yard. We had some small shovels for them and they loved them. (Although I really didn't love the bazillion holes I had to fill back in!).
