With Father's Day around the corner I decided to join a Father's Day Event called "Celebrating Dad" with a few of my blogging friends. Since Jake (my hubby) is like most guys and loves to grill I figured I would try and put together a Grill Package for the event. I must say that he was speechless when I told him that The Kansas City Steak Company had agreed to let him review steaks for the event.

I was so worried that I would miss the delivery of the steaks and they would end up sitting outside and go bad on me. Luckily I was home on the day they arrived and was very happy with how they had been prepared to be shipped. The steaks came in a Styrofoam box with dry ice inside it to keep the steaks frozen throughout the shipping and delivery process.

When I opened the box I found the bag containing the dry ice, the steaks, a seasoning packet and a company/store catalog all in the box. The catalog was very nice because it not only listed available products but also cooking times for the different types of steaks as well as some recipes. I am one who likes my steak cooked medium and Jake likes his more medium well so the catalog told him how long to cook the steaks to reach the desired doneness. When we opened the box of steaks we found 4 individually wrapped 10 oz strip steaks along with the seasoning packet.

I must say that these were some of the best steaks that we have had in quite awhile. I usually just buy my steaks from the local store but after trying these steaks hubby wants to just start ordering them. The cuts seemed to be better quality then you get in a store. We did not hardly find any gristle in the steaks and the steaks were not overly fatty either. We cooked 2 of the steaks with the seasoning and 2 without and they had a great flavor either way cooked. I am not a big seasoned steak fan so I was happy that the steaks had a good flavor without seasoning as well.
