Spookley Square Pumpkin DVD review & giveaway


Have you ever read the story Spookley the Square Pumpkin to your children? I know that I have read the book to my boys and they really enjoyed it! So I am sure that they will enjoy watching the DVD along with their sister now. 


"In the world where Spookley lives, "the only good pumpkins are round pumpkins." But Spookley is not round - he's square - and he is often teased for his odd shape. Soon, however he is befriended by Edgar, Allan and Poe - three hilarious spiders who convince Spookley that, square or not, he has a right to be the "Pick of the Patch" on Halloween."

I let Pumpkin's old preschool class borrow the Spookley the Square Pumpkin DVD to watch in class. Since it is a faith based school I thought the whole story of Spookley would fit in great with what Ms. Crystal teaches the kids. 


Ms. Crystal said the kids really enjoy the movie and she liked the story/meaning behind the movie. In a world full of bullying lately it is so good to know that there are still stories and videos out there we can use to help teach our children compassion and love. We are each made in God's imagine and are made to be exactly how he wants us to be. In Spookley's case he was meant to be square not round.  Check out a clip from the Spookley the Square Pumpkin below.

    I love movies like this that teach a lesson but are still fun for kids. I'd love this DVD for my grandkids!

    I would love to have this for my youngest granddaughter, I think it is important for all children to know that they are special and not just like everyone else.
