Sponsor Post: Swimline Corp

With Summer here it is time to think about ways to stay cool in the heat. One of the best ways is to jump in a cool pool and take a dip. Now thanks to Swimline not only are my kids cooling off in the pool but also having fun while doing so! We received 3 really great pool floats to review from Swimline and the kids are loving them!

The Original Squeeze

Bug loves food. He loves messy food even better. One plus is that he loves to feed himself too. I've used the food strainer things for fruit and all he does with those is make a mess because, well lets be honest, its a strainer. When I tried him on the squeeze pouches he fell in love with them. He could never get enough. I could never have enough in the house. One big problem with those though is he likes to feed himself and once you squeeze the pouch, you are wearing most of the food. I made a lot of Bug's baby food and I was always telling people that they should make a way to reuse those squeeze pouch containers because it would be so easy and convenient for baby food, especially when you make it and have to package it yourself. Well, someone must have heard me because they came up with the original Squeeze.

Start Your Morning Off Right with Community Coffee

I am a big fan of coffee! Maybe its because I have to get up so early, deal with kids and schedules, all before going to work. So when I had the chance to review coffee, I was excited. I'm always willing to try new coffees, especially flavored coffee. The newest coffee I have tried is the Community Coffee from New Orleans. Community coffee has been around since 1919 and four generations later, they are still making it today. They have perfected it to different flavors. They sell the coffee as ground and whole bean. They adhere to the standards of the Specialty coffee Association of America (SCAA). Their premium coffee uses the highest quality Arabica coffee beans. Community Coffee makes different flavors, strengths (extra dark, dark, medium dark, dark), instant, decaffeinated, single serve, K-Cups and tea.

Rainy Day Sanity Saver

When you have a family day planned for the beach, lake or pool and rain cancels your plans don't stress! You can still keep the kids entertained and your sanity as well by taking a fun trip to your local Chuck E Cheese's store. My kids love spending time at our local Chuck E Cheese's playing games, eating pizza and winning tickets. I have to say that I enjoy helping the younger ones win their tickets. I don't know an adult who doesn't love playing the games with the kids.

On the Go with Vilah Bloom

With being a mom of 4 children it seems like I am always on the go and looking for a great bag to take with me. Lately we are at baseball at least 4-6 days out of the week for the boys and the girls have to go along. With Angel still in diapers and Sweet Pea loving to roll down the hills and play in mud I need to have a good diaper bag with me that is multi-functional. With that said let me introduce you to the Harbor Side Tote from Vilah Bloom.

Changing the Pace of my family

It seems like we all come across paths in our lives where we need to step back and reevaluate what we are doing. When you have children it seems like that happens more frequently. Not only do you have to worry about how things are affecting you but your children as well. In today's society I feel like I am constantly sitting here going "what is wrong with people and what has happened to our country". We have become a country so filled with sin and are immune to it and feel that we will not suffer any consequences for our actions and that scares me greatly.

Baby Wren and the Great Gift

Recently I received the book Baby Wren and the Great Gift to review with by boys and it quickly became a favorite in our home. Every child wishes they could be someone else whether it's a super hero, an animal or an object, and that's the same way baby wren felt in this book. In the book Baby Wren was no different then the children we are raising today. Baby Wren was born on a ledge and just wanted to fit in. She wished she could dive with the fish, fly with the Eagles, play with the ring-tail cats, but she couldn't.

Weekend Getaway at Castaway Bay

When the temps are cold outside and you just can't get outside to play what do you do for fun with your family? Well if you are like me and DO NOT like the cold weather AT ALL you sit inside cooped up going crazy with kids that have a bunch of stored energy. Which makes you go crazy because there is only so much you can do to keep 4 kids busy inside a home. Luckily for us Ohio has some great indoor water-parks within a short driving distance from our home. So we surprised the kids with a surprise weekend getaway at Castaway Bay

Get That Grill Clean

One thing that my family loves to do when the weather breaks in Ohio is grill out. The smell of food cooking on a grill is one of my favorites, but cleaning the grill is one of my least favorite things to do. I really do not know to many people who actually enjoy cleaning a grill because they are not a easy item to clean.

Ways to teach children to be global citizens

-          Turn story time into a teachable moment: Learning about other countries and cultures can happen during daily activities. Choose children’s books that accurately portray other cultures or focus on historical events for afternoon or bedtime reading. After finishing the book, parents can talk to children about what they learned and how the lives of the characters in the book differ from their own.

-          Make the facts digestible for young minds: Young children may have a difficult time comprehending abstract statistics about inequality around the world. Create a math activity at home to make this information more relatable. Use beads or buttons to count out how many children are in the child’s class, and then remove items based on global averages for clean water access or hunger statistics. According to World Vision’s 2015 Food Assistance Report, 1 in 6 children – more than 1.4 million kids - are dangerously underweight because they lack access to adequate food and nutritional assistance. For a classroom of 24, remove 4 beads to represent these children.

Pregnancy Journal: Week 16

I am just starting to feel better but still very tired and weak. All I want to do is sleep and nothing else which is hard when you have 4 kiddos running around that need your attention. Along with a house that needs cleaned and laundry that needs done you know all the normal mommy stuff.

Scarology Giveaway

One third of women in the United States have a C-section delivery. While this brings them the wonderful gift of life, it also leaves them with an unsightly scar. Often times, these scars will fade and leave just a pale, thin, flat line. But, sometimes, scars are bigger, thicker and raised and son't heal as well. While creams and oils may help a bit with a scar's appearance, there really hasn't been anything that has worked wonders. Until now...

I'd like to introduce you to Scarology Ultimate Scar Treatment System for C-Sections & Large Scars: $78.50. Dr. Micheal Connor and Dr. Jeanmarie Connor are a husband and wife team with twenty years of medical expertise specializing in plastic and reconstructive surgery and pediatrics. Together they have created Scarology. This new product is a safe and effective three-step at home scar treatment. The proprietary scar treatment system combines ingredients that have, until now, only been available in medical settings. These key ingredients have been shown to nourish the healing scar with hydration, and reduce inflammation in the scar tissue.

Pregnancy Journal: Week 15

I am just starting to feel good and not be so nauseated all the time . I am so thankful to be off the reglan pump now. Having hyperemesis during pregnancy is nothing I would wish on anyone but in the end it worth it.
